The RB26 is a high camshaft, so it lacks a little torque at low speeds, but once the cam kicks in, the response and horsepower are unmatched by the stock RB26. The RB26 is equipped with an external mechanical LSD, so when driving at low speeds and turning the steering angle to a large degree, a rattling chattering sound can be heard from the differential, but this is normal as the differential has a high initial setting. Also, when the transmission is warmed up, there is a rattling noise from the transmission during idling. This is a unique grinding sound of the Getrag transmission and is not a malfunction. (It disappears when the clutch is disengaged. The stock car has a flywheel with damper to absorb some of the noise, but this is a Nismo flywheel without damper, so the noise sounds louder.)
The transmission has been fully overhauled by Auto Gallery Yokohama. The Getrag is a rugged transmission to begin with, but due to the increased spring rate when shifting left, right, and longitudinally, it requires more force to stroke the transmission (a transmission that you can feel the gears engaging). (This is completely the preference of the president of Auto Gallery Yokohama (lol).) It does not mean that the gear entry is bad, so it is OK if you aim and shift firmly.
