The engine installed on the Abarth 124 is a 1.4 multi-air turbo engine developed and produced by FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies). Also installed in Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Mito, each engine maximum output optimized for each model has a wide range of 135 to 170 ps, and it is adjusted to each Fiat Alfa Romeo brand identity.
It is no exaggeration to say that even if the same engine is installed in the Abarth 595, etc., the Abarth 124, which has been vertically installed and made into an FR, has come out to the world as a completely different personality.

It was in the summer of 2013 that a press release was announced to develop the Mazda and Alfa Romeo Spider.
In this development, I did not use the Alfa Romeo Spider as the Abarth 124, but if I ride the Alfa Romeo Giulietta in Omoren Fuchu, I can see the opposite of the Alfa Romeo and Abarth brands.
The steering quickness required for Alfa Romeo and the unbelievable tension at the time of speed... And the elegant running praising its aggressiveness... None of this Abarth 124 exists. Honestly, I thought that if I put Multi Air 1.4, it would be like Alfa,but in the early stages of development, the total balance is not that. However, it was Fiat's historical value that 124 cars existed in the history of Abarth. And this Abarth 124 was born by co-creation with Mazda.

The Abarth 124 isn't just an open drive, it has a lot of mess like "Are you going to make a car like this?" when the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA was created. Serendipity with Mazda... Vertical multi-air, FR drive, engine roaring like an Alfa Romeo Twin Spark... Japanese cheap body, and Omoren Fuchu has automatic.
